McGurk will discuss her new book: Tell Me a Story Where the Bad Girl Wins: The Life and Art of Barbara Shermund
Attendees of this talk will discover Shermund's unique and vibrant life and art, gain an understanding of how women's place in the history of cartooning has been controlled and sublimated by greater societal and cultural allowances, and learn about McGurk's process of tracing Shermund's life and putting scant pieces of information together in order to form a picture of who this artist was.
Books will be available for purchase and signing by Mac's Backs.
